I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.(Galatians 2:20) Have you doubts about your salvation. Is there ever a pull on your heart? Have you a problem with sinful thoughts? Are you still struggling with temptation? Well, since we are not “God-Men”, that just seems to come naturally. But, IF you believe. IF you have asked Jesus into your heart. IF you truly repent of your sins. Stop worrying about it and spend less time in the world and more time in the WORD. I need to do just that. I love good movies, but what is considered good today isn’t what I need to clutter my mind. I love certain television shows, but after watching, there just isn’t much “uplifting” left. I watched “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and Tom Hanks and this cast should take every award…but they won’t. You know why? Well, where was the ‘swearing’? Where was the ‘flesh’? Where was the ‘violence’? There was just a bountiful supply of “Agape” wrapped around “family resentment and disappointments”. It wasn’t “Bosch”. It wasn’t “Longmire”. It wasn’t “Justified”. It wasn’t “Bluebloods”. (now, you say, “what’s so bad about Tom and the family?”, well, to me there’s more ‘ritual than family worship’, but I still will watch, donchaknow. What Galatians and all Paul’s letters to the Gentile churches says to me is, “Heaven’s our home, we’re just here on a visit!”. We’re not ‘of the world’, we’re ‘Out of this World’, and we need to demonstrate that daily. It’s simply all about “Loving One Another”. It’s all about “Phileo”!
And that’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates. AMEN
