” But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives “ (2 Peter 3:10-11)
Devastation has brought tragedy in all our lives recently. It seems that every day brings more bad news of death and destruction. Consider all the photos of what is left after a flood or tornado and you begin to get a glimpse of just what is in store for this world. It’s called “Tribulation” and it is much worse than anything we have experienced thus far. Some theologians believe that God has become so disgusted with his creation, that he totally wiped the earth clean, twice. The first time he destroyed everything! In the book of Genesis, we read of a second chance and we blew that one so he did away with everything but a small family and two of each of the living creatures. He made a covenant that would guarantee no more wiping everything out by water, but he never said just how he would do it in the final step. Peter reveals that man will finally be judged by fire. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to consider just what nuclear warfare will bring. I fear we have detoured from his will to the point of no return. I regret that I have lived long enough to see America legalize abominations.
I wish I could write uplifting messages like Fred Rogers. I wish I didn’t see into the mirror darkly, but all will end soon and the end will not be pleasant. If you have not accepted God’s Greatest Gift of Eternal Life through Faith in Jesus Christ, it’s not too late, yet. SIN kills and the SINister minister is thrilled by that. He knows he has lost opportunity to be “GOD”. He knows the Truth, but that doesn’t stop him from bringing men, women and children down. All I can say is, “We ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” Better be ready! And, that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates. AMEN
