Selfies

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:3-4) This verse from the Bible gives me pause. Here are a few selfies off the Internet.

I wonder just who these people had in mind when they snapped the photo?

These two verses written by the Apostle Paul to a church suggests that anything. other than concern for others. is outside God’s Will, therefore it is SIN. That tells me, “Selfies are inspired by the SINister minister, Period. Every indication is that these photos are precisely for “Self” and that does not follow Paul’s admonition. If it doesn’t follow Paul’s admonition, then it must be outside the Will of God and that makes it SIN!

The very first few words strikes home for me. And to read further, stings also. There’s that word “humility”,again! Tell me this is an easy thing. The whole thing that motivates us to ‘DO”. is defined by worldly thinking. Instead of “What’s in your Wallet/Safe”, the question should be “What’s in Your Heart” and that isn’t possible to consider without Jesus Christ residing there, donchaknow. Period!  But, it’s not too late. Really.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

And that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates.  AMEN
