This is the title of one of my favorite love songs. It must be well over 50-years old, but I recall the first time I heard it (I believe it was sung by Ketty Lester) and it has been ‘covered’ by many others. It could have been inspired by scripture.
In John 13:34–35, he quotes Jesus as saying, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another”.
I have shared this thought often, but Steve Arterburn reminds us of this great quote from Jimmy Hendrix: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
Now, that just about sums it up, donchaknow. It is worthy of being placed on our hearts, our walls, our bumper stickers and the hall of Congress. Really!
And, that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates. AMEN
