There’s a big difference why we did as expected ‘back yonder’ and today. Back then, we had a deep sense of proper behaviour and respect. We knew what was expected and we obeyed. I believe that youngsters today lack that understanding. I believe it due to a lack of absolute. The Bible talks about obedience in the Gospel of John. Obedience to God’s commands. To do so guarantees one to remain a loved one. It was ingrained and natural for me to behave respectfully. It was an obligation. I did as expected. Today, well it would appear that everyone, from young to old, does pretty much as they will. That could be due to the lack of influence by a father and mother back home. God ordained all children to ‘honor their father and mother’. That is one of the commandments to His children:
“If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” (John 15:10)
Perhaps, today, we are not all God’s Children. What do you think?
And that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates. AMEN
