“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”. (James 5:16)
Have you ever noticed the Apostle’s Prose Style? The important part is usually last.
We all owe someone an apology for something. Slights as small as a shrug can leave scars. James was Jesus’ half-brother and he understood completely what made true confession valid. He had truly despised his ‘perfect’ brother. Jesus always did the ‘right’ thing and it stuck in James’ craw for years. All that dislike made James a very sad man. But, the Holy Spirit never gave up on him and casting his eyes upon Jesus hanging from that cruel cross, James “Believed”! Righteousness resulted and HE was forgiven! He confessed right there and from that day on James was saved, sanctified and secure. He later became the pastor of the church and was thrown to his death for his belief. James died a martyr and resides with his Lord in heaven. I believe he and the heavenly host are spending prayer time for you and I in constant praise of My Lord.
We should be doing the same until The King returns, donchaknow. And, that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates. AMEN
