What – Me Worry?

Alred E. Newman

You may not be old enough to recall MAD magazine’s “Alfred E. Newman”.

He graced the cover of the magazine for years. First used in the first campaign by Republicans in opposition to FDR, Alf represented the opinion of the opposition as to the mental capacity of his supporters. It was such a big hit when MAD began displaying him, that it became their Icon. What it was intended to say was that those who were supporters of the Democratic candidate had a few ‘screws loose’. It’s sorta like today, with one big exception. Back then it was poked in fun. Today, when half-truth is the norm and hatred abounds, it is destructive and totally in opposition of God’s Will. I find it’s just good sense to not worry at all. Here’s why:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phillipians 4:6-7)

That’s My God talking through his Apostle Paul in a letter to the Church in Phillipi, an ancient metropolis in Greece. We must cease our anxiety through the sacrificial blood of My Lord Jesus Christ, or else. Continuing on our present course leads to total destruction of this Great Nation! All the rhetoric and ‘man-words’ cannot replace the Truth of Holy Scripture. “In Christ Jesus” is our only hope and it’s time we gather there in prayer and supplication. Really!

To Do So is very smart, regardless of “What Others May Say”. Just read 2 Chronicles 7:14 for yourself and get on your knees, America, and Do It! Please!

And that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates.  AMEN
