“IN” the closet

We hear a lot about “Coming Out” today. Men and women, boys and girls, are proudly announcing their ‘sexual’ preference. I wonder if any of them ever pray about that decision. I wonder if anyone actually prays about difficult decisions to become ‘transvestite‘. I wonder if Bruce Jenner ever prays. I have friends who claim to be believers yet live in a homosexual relationship. They attend ‘worship’ in an organized church and still continue to live the alternate lifestyle. I also have met men who profess to be ‘Gay’, yet refrain from doing so. They will say that God made them that way and that’s not for me to judge. I believe every living person is given the freedom to choose. That’s called “Free Will’, but I do not believe anyone has the right to judge another’s choices in the way they live, however we have laws that forbid certain crimes and as citizens may be called to serve on a jury.  Should we be called, we are placed in a position to decide guilt or innocence. I believe that to be the only time I can sit in judgement. I believe God forgives us as we serve. I also believe that to be one of the times for prayer. In Matthew, chapter 6 and verse 6, Jesus instructs his disciples and says:“But when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly”

To me, this is the most important prayer anyone can pray. For every important decision, it is the prayer everyone must make and I pray that those who “Come Out” of that closet, pray that way while still inside. Of course, that is assuming that God hears ‘every’ prayer, donchaknow. Sometimes I wonder.

And that’s what I get from MY box of chocolates.   AMEN
