Do you know someone who says things that you wish you had said? I read Steve Arterburn, Jim Denison and Adrian Rogers every morning. There is not a day goes by that one or all will say what I wish I had said. Barbara Jordan, Leon Hale, John Henry Faulk, David C. Brown, Samuel Clemens, Winston Churchill, Will Rogers, Paul, Peter and Abraham Lincoln are all on my “I wish I had said that” list. Alfred Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Marconi, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, The Wright Brothers, Dr. Spock, Lee Childs, David Baldacci, John Gresham, Albert Payson Terhune, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Terri Blackstock and Tom Clancy have blessed my life, inspired and encouraged me to keep on keeping on. Donald J. Trump, Trey Gowdy, Lindsey Graham, B. Mark Walker, Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman, George Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Tom Landry, Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo, Kurt Warner, Jason Witten, Clint Dolezel and Bum Phillips have each inspired me by their courage to do the right thing in spite of opposition.
Sam Austin, Mattie Tabb Austin, Marilyn Williams Austin,Linda Bagley, Martha Jane Austin, James Steven Austin, An d’ Lis Cromeans, Jeanlizbeth Skinner, Kimberly Austin, Kimberly Nachtsheim, Don Paxton, Troy Dungan, Tony Forehand, Roger Johnson, Fred Hodges, Charlie Shaffer, Sonny James, Les Kincaid, Earl Jones, H. Wilson “Cheezy” Cook, Travis B. Bryan, Jr, Travis Lipscomb, Roger Bond, Buddy McGowen, Jack Briggs, Jesse Burditt, William Harvey Andrews, Bailey Stone, Noogie Stewart, Don Paxton, Chuck Ende, Cindy Lewis, Joe Murphy, Perry Broussard, Sam Hicks, Ken Stahl, Tru Hawkins, Forrest Duke, Floyd Thackery, Red Mcilvaine and the thousands of fine students who have blessed me over the years, all come to mind , because they have touched my heart in very special ways. But, I wonder if all of these wonderful men and women have shared their love and kindness with others … all ‘others’. That’s the true test of ‘LOVE’ and we’ve all failed too often, donchaknow. The Apostle Paul wrote this in his “Love Chapter”:
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.” 1 Corinthians: 1-3
I would never be on God’s “Lovers” wall up until now, but with Jesus and the Holy Spirit running things, I will do it from now on! Otherwise, I am “No Good a’tall” You??
And, that’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates. AMEN
