Her Last Bus Ride

Marietta Marich has made her final ‘curtain call’.  The Houston Stage has lost a stirring voice. Thousands of people benefitted from the talent that was, both spending midnight with her and enjoying her performance on the stage. I witnessed her ‘Academy Award’ performance when she determined that it was time to put the -30- mark on The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”.  I believe she didn’t wish to continue, especially when the indicators were that it was a super hit with years to go. Those of us who were blessed by her presence, and that of her daughter, will never forget her. She punched that bus ticket for the final time, once and for all. Heaven’s gift is our loss. May the memory of hours of joy and entertainment excellence ring in hearts, forever. I pray that the empty chair at our table has been traded for one at the Table of GOD.  That’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates.  AMEN

  1. When my husband and I moved to Houston in 1977, I remember her show on channel 13 at 4:00 every afternoon. Also remember seeing Miss Mona and the Sheriff at the Tower.
All very professional and entertaining. All are missed in this day and time.
