I’ve lost count of the number of times a few butterflies fluttered around in my stomach. Every time my choir performed, there they were. Interscholastic League Contest had them covering the sky. Waiting in the ‘Father’s Room’, expectantly, for good news..yep..they were there. All the times I ‘began’ a new career, caused a few. When my Aggies, Cowboys and Philadelphia Soul football teams play, they’re there. During the ‘decade’ filled with the last election, they were in a riot. When I over-exert and can’t draw a full breath, they are accompanied by a sweaty brow. Waiting in the ‘customers’ lounge’ at the GastroWhatever’s office, I had a bunch of the turkeybuzzards, but today, Pastor Adrian Rogers’ posting shamed me and put it all in proper perspective. His reference comes from Romans 8:17. “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” Stressful times are times of suffering. If my LORD JESUS CHRIST suffered for me; if HE sacrificed HIS innocent life in payment for all my sins and since HE is glorified, then why sweat the small stuff when I am somewhat included? Mine is a VICTORIOUS LIFE where it counts….in Eternity. What we experience down here is like a flea crawling up an elephant’s leg with assault on its mind, donchaknow, really. That’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates. AMEN
