Two of my favorites had supper with each other this week. I’ve introduced you to Charlie, but you’ve not met Lorella.(wedding bells were rumored by folks about these two, but Charlie sets the record straight with a firm, “not so!”) Soon after I came here, on a shuttle ride from WalMart, I sat by a lovely little lady named Lorella. Our conversation revealed that we had both lived in Mount Pleasant. Her last name triggered a memory. I asked, “Your husband wasn’t kin to Arthur M—— was he?” “He and Arthur were brothers”, she said. Well, what do you know? I told her that we were ‘kissin’ cousins’ since my mother and Arthur were cousins. Lorella reminds me of my mother and is one of my favorites. Through her I have made contact with one of remaining Mount Pleasant Tiger, 1949 graduates. It’s a small world after all. I shall miss Lorella and Charlie and all my most special neighbors when I get to The Colony, but maybe there will come a time when I can return and say ‘howdy’. If you’re ever in Longview and have a minute, it will be well worth your time to stop in at Colonial Village and meet all my friends. Isn’t GOD GREAT? HE puts folks in our path who bless and sustain us through all kinds of stuff. That’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates. AMEN
Thank you for sharing Lorella with us. She sounds like a lovely lady.
