A Nation Divided

“But I think that the best thing we can do is to value lives over the economy,” he said. “I think that’s one of our biggest problems in America is that the economy is stronger than our moral fiber. Our desire for prosperity is so much greater than our desire to be moral, to be humane, to love, to care, that we’ll risk our children, we’ll risk the sanctity of marriage or anything just for money. Just to stay on top as a nation. What we don’t understand, I think, is that when we lose our heart, when we lose our souls, we’re really the bottom, we’re really the worst of people no matter how materially rich we are.”(Kevin Nixon, a black pastor, following the horror in Dallas) Kevin and his five-year-old son had joined what was to be a peaceful demonstration, said this on MSNBC.  I agree with him. If America is to continue to be a world-leader, America must have a change of heart.  Before we can ever ‘love one another’, we must pass that love through GOD.  HE has waited much to long for this ‘blessed’ nation to return to HIM.  Unbelief and sinful acts have cost us dearly.  We are so caught up in our arrogance, we fail to realize the answer to living in peace has already been revealed in the Ten Commandments. With the additional “Love thy neighbor as GOD loves you”, no more man-made laws are necessary.  (What man-made law has worked, anyway?) Kevin has the right answer, for we are mostly interested in temporal “things”.  We need to turn our eyes upon JESUS, donchaknow. That’s what I get from My Box of Chocolates.      AMEN
