Make Believe

You hear people talk about praying and you see athletes kneel or are pointing up when they find the End Zone, but who are they praying to and what are they pointing to? It would be good to know that they are all sincere and, more importantly, heard by GOD. I have quoted the passage in Chronicles many times and it tells me just ‘who’ GOD hears. It begins, “If MY people, who are called by MY NAME…” That doesn’t include ‘everybody’, does it? If that is the case, then it would explain why prayers are not always answered.  We love patriotic songs such as “God Bless America” and it warms my heart each time I hear it, but I find it difficult to look  upon my country as a ‘Christian’ nation. When I was a youngster, there was a very popular radio program that aired on Saturday morning called, “Let’s Pretend”.  It was one of my favorites. I am afraid we are living  ‘Make Believe’, right now.  It doesn’t make sense that we call  ourselves Christian when we ignore the very teachings of Christ, Himself.  It is obvious that we must simply be ‘skimming’ Scripture, or perhaps ignoring it entirely.  What we call ‘laws’ are so diametrically opposed to GOD’s Law,  and yet we continue to live in two worlds.  Things are not good and unless there is a change of heart, they are going to get worse, donchaknow. It is time for those of us who know the Truth, to do some humbling and seeking and stop sinning.   “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot!”  AMEN
