The Final Curtain

Easter Worship Service has passed (except for recordings) and we once again have new vigor to keep on keeping on. There is so much to do in the name of the LORD.  There is so little time left to do it, donchaknow. SIN was conquered on the Cross. DEATH was concurred by the Resurrection. Now, there is only one final task for the KING of KINGS to have completed GOD’s HOLY CYCLE and that is the total destruction of the ‘last enemy’- Satan.(I Corinthians 15)

As a Believer, I can’t wait. I would prefer to be taken home with a “Shout” and the sooner the better. I have some good days, but better ones await. Martha is in contact with me every week and she shares her concern, but when I say, “I’m fine”, it comes with modifiers. I am by no means in an “end it all” mode, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know when things are slowing down and the play is nearing Act III. I had always been drawn to theater. I had a taste of success as Prince Bounine in Amarillo Theater’s “Anastasia” in the fifties. At Stage Center in Bryan, I had roles in “The Detective Story”, “The Best Man” and “The Crucible”. I got my chance to play for pay in summer stock at Hill Country Foundation’s outdoor stage house in “The Little Foxes”, “Sound of Music” and “Brigadoon”. I got my fill of touring with “The Best Littler Whorehouse in Texas” National II company, appearing in 26 cities from 1978 – 1981. When that final curtain came down, I must admit it was a big relief. That was my final Curtain Call as a Pro. I’ve really lived a charmed life. My “Bucket List” is almost complete. I have always been blessed with a roof over my head and all my needs met, but JESUS has promised that my inheritance, that’s my eternal inheritance, guarantees no more night; no more worry; no more pain; no more danger; no more want; no more need; no more meds; no more doctor visits; no more failures; no more war; no more anger; no more insults; no more threats; no more painful joints; no more doubts, no more no more’s. That’s right! No More No More, ‘cause there will be no need. JESUS said, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go there to prepare a place for you so that you will be with me also”. I think that puts me in pretty good company. What ‘more’ could a person want than that?  The cross that held my LORD is empty. The tomb that held my LORD is empty. The future with my LORD is real and filled with promise and I’m ready. Until that day, I shall continue to share ruminations in love and prayer for you, with you. May this Circle be unbroken in the sky, LORD, in the sky.  AMEN
